Our experience at High Chaparral was a once in a lifetime opportunity to eat the most amazing food ( we highly recommend the octopus, squid and the sea brim), hear the incredible life story of Angelos, the owner, and see his amazing pink pelican Bosedonia, who loves him dearly. It’s rare to find a restaurant with as much heart, passion and love as this one. Highly recommend paying them a visit 🩷
Our story
58 years by the waves
High Chaparral was never easy to build. It was kept alive with hard work, stubbornness and a lot of love.
-
1968
The beginning, with no water or electricity
Germasogeia beach did not yet have the basics. Mr Angelos carried water himself in cans and took electricity from car batteries.
-
1981
A small chapel for Saint Nicholas
On Sunday 6 December 1981, Bishop Chrysanthos of Limassol consecrated a miniature chapel of Saint Nicholas on the tavern's grounds. Mr Angelos also gave £500 to the Limassol homes for children with special needs. At least 12 newspapers reported it, from «Phileleftheros» to the «Cyprus Weekly».
-
2011
Two awards for quality, tradition and service
A special award from the Economic and Commercial Counsellor's Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cyprus (27 May 2011) and a special award from Metropolitan in Business (25 November 2011), «For Quality, Tradition & Service».

Still standing
The hard days
Not everything was easy. There were difficult years and people who fought against him. Mr Angelos did not close his door. He kept the tavern open on the same principles as on the first day: fresh food, fair prices and good service.
-
2026
58 years later
The tables are still by the waves, the octopus is still on the charcoal, and Poseidonia is always there.
